Council in speed u-turn at Quigley’s Point junction

Decision to increase limit to 100kph was ‘utterly mad’
Donegal County Council is considering a speed reduction on a busy Inishowen junction less than four weeks after it erected signs to increase the limit.
The possible speed u-turn at the Quigley’s Point intersection – where the R240 Carn road meets the R238 Moville to Muff road – comes after concerns have been raised about safety.
Culdaff haulage representative George Mills says lorry drivers in particular are finding it difficult to make right turns in the direction of Muff, with oncoming traffic now travelling 25 per cent faster round a bend on the left.
