Gardaí hunt Carn tree vandals

GARDAÍ are actively pursuing the vandals who destroyed 13 trees on the entrance into Carn Town over the weekend.

The picturesque trees, which were planted and commissioned by the Carn Tidy Towns, were demolished between 1am and 9am on Sunday morning.

Gardaí are currently examining CCTV of the area around New Park road and are particularly interested in the movements of a group of youths in the area between 1am and 4am.

Superintendent Eugene McGovern said they are appealing to anyone who was on the road at the time who may have saw the youths to get in touch with them.
