TRADITIONAL MUSIC students from Inishowen are hoping to hit the right note at this year’s Fleadh, and bring home gold.

The annual event, will see 3,000 competitors take part from across Ireland, and the world, by either playing, singing or dancing, for all-Ireland glory in 180 competitions.

Inishowen traditional music teacher, Roisin McGrory, whose own daughter Ella, aged 16, will be performing on the piano accompaniment, says it’s a huge achievement for the musicians from Inishowen to get to the Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann Championships 2017.

“I hope that they all do really well. But, at this stage it may all come down to one adjudicator that makes the final decision. Competing at the standard they are competing at, they have all done extremely well to get there,” she said.
