Parishioners warned over gravestones

PEOPLE WHO have buried their loved ones in Buncrana are being banned from erecting headstones bigger than four feet, surrounds and even stones.

They won’t be able to get a memorial installed either, unless they’ve had permission from the parish priest.

If they breach the rules, then memorials or items that do not conform can be removed without notice.

And workmen will be prohibited from working in Cockhill and Desertegney cemeteries if they don’t conform to the rules.
