STUDENTS AT Scoil Mhuire have been left devastated at the passing of ‘gentle giant’ Liam McGlinchey.
The 19-year-old passed away suddenly in Albany, New York on Friday morning.
Liam, who was born in America, lived in Ballymagan, Buncrana for the past number of years but left for the States in April this year to sit his SATs over there – to enable him to get into an American university.
His former principal at Scoil Mhuire, Rosaleen Grant, said: “We are absolutely devastated, Liam was a really big part of our school community and he was here with us until April this year.
“We are all in shock, to the students that knew him he was just like a gentle giant.”
