Families homeless; businesses flooded; roads wrecked
FORTY-SEVEN Inishowen families are now homeless after the worst-ever flood in history ravaged the peninsula.
However it’s feared the number of people displaced as a result of the once-in-a-century flood is much higher.
Last Tuesday’s flooding left Inishowen in a state of ruin, with roads, bridges, homes, community centres, farms and businesses all destroyed.
Father-of-four Gerald Bradley – whose Paic na Grianán home in Burnfoot was devastated by the floods – says his family are lucky to be alive.
