We’d be lost without iCARE

Father prepares for Marathon while iCARE ball is just around the corner

AN INISHOWEN father is running the Dublin Marathon next month to raise money for a vital local autism charity.

Local dad Kevin McLaughlin will be taking on the gruelling 26.2 mile marathon in Dublin next month to raise money for iCARE in Buncrana.

Kevin and his wife Mary have three children Martin, 19, Patrick, seven, and six-year-old Michael who all have different degrees of autism. All three boys use the iCARE centre in Buncrana.

Kevin says it has been a lifeline for his family, but in particular their children.

“Without the help and support of iCARE many families would have no respite at all, and worse again, many of our children would spend their childhoods almost entirely socially isolated,” Kevin said.
