Man and woman arrested after Buncrana brawl

A man and woman were arrested after a major brawl broke out on Buncrana’s Main Street in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Large groups of young men and women were reportedly involved in the altercation, which was described as one of the worst brawls seen in Buncrana in some time.

The Garda press office said that gardaí attended an incident on Main Street, Buncrana, at 3.40am on Sunday 22 October. A man and woman, both in their 20s, were arrested and taken to Buncrana Garda Station.

Eyewitnesses described the first as ‘savage’ and one of ‘the worst ever seen’ in Buncrana, with reports of biting and people being kicked to the head.

“People were trying to kill each other on the Main Street – both men and women – this was one of the worst ever,” an eyewitness said.
