Buncrana Chamber awards shortlist announced

It’s now just under a fortnight until the social and business event of the year, the Buncrana Chamber of Commerce Gala Ball.

The black tie ball will be held in the Inishowen Gateway Hotel on Saturday 27 November with dinner, awards and dancing until late. Special guest on the night will be Miss Ireland Lauren McDonagh.

Buncrana’s Lauren McDonagh is crowned Miss Ireland 2017. She is pictured with Niamh Kennedy, the 2016 Miss Ireland.

Last year’s Gala Ball was a tremendous success with hundreds of guests attending the awards ceremony which saw Healthwise Pharmacies win the business of the year award, and Brendan Callaghan of Callaghan’s Jewellers pick up the business person of the year.

John McCarter was honoured with a special hall of fame award, while SuperValu Buncrana was presented with the ‘Best Business Contribution to the Community’ gong.

Today, we publish the nominees in each of the 16 categories. The team at the Chamber have been working hard to whittle down the hundreds of entries to shortlist businesses and people for the various categories.

You can keep up to date with the latest information on the awards on the Chamber of Commerce website – www.buncranachamber.com

Tickets for the awards are €50 and include a champagne reception, four course dinner and music from Pure Fresh. The dress code is black tie.

Tickets are available from the Buncrana Chamber of Commerce office, which is open from 9.45am-2.45pm from Monday-Thursday.
