Boathouse brings in the stars
Celebrity couple Courteney Cox and Johnny McDaid seem to have taken a fancy to Inishowen and Donegal.
They spent some quality time in Redcastle over the holiday period; and turned heads at the popular Boathouse restaurant when they popped in last week for a bite to eat.
Restaurant manager Fergal Owens said the visit has been a great talking point in the village.
“Johnny’s sister and his mother are regular customers in the restaurant so we knew there was a good chance that they were coming too,” he said.
Cox starred as ‘Monica Geller’ in the hit sitcom ‘Friends’ for a decade and went on to star in a number of major movies, including the ‘Scream’ horror franchise. She has a reported net worth of $150 million.
Derry native McDaid is the guitarist with top group Snow Patrol and has also developed a reputation as a talented songwriter, penning hits for Ed Sheeran, Pink and Robbie Williams, among others.
Boathouse manager Fergal is a huge fan of ‘Friends’.
“The show has stood the test of time. I loved it when it was on; you can still go back to the start now and it’s still so funny.”
And with McDaid having a property interest in the Redcastle area, Fergal is hopeful the celebrity couple will be back soon.
