Another high-profile outing for Oliver Doherty creation
ONE of Inishowen’s most talented upcoming designers was over the moon last week when television presenter Laura Whitmore chose one of his designs for the IFTAs.
Hours before the Irish Film and Television Awards, which were televised live to more than 300,000 viewers on RTE 1 last Saturday night, MTV and ‘I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here’ presenter Whitmore tweeted to her hundreds of thousands of followers that she would be wearing a dress ‘by upcoming Irish designer’ Oliver Doherty Duncan.
28-year-old Whitmore, who is originally from Co. Bray and rumoured to be in a relationship with Scottish musician Paolo Nutini, used the tagline ‘#keepitirish’.
Culdaff man Oliver who is currently living and working in London was delighted when Whitmore choose one of his designs to wear to the IFTAs.
He explained that the television presenter saw the Culdaff man’s collection at the Design Centre in Dublin where he has pieces on sale.
