‘It will probably be a tiny bit nerve wracking!’
Malin’s ‘Henry Girls’ are preparing for one of their biggest ever gigs at next month’s world-famous Glastonbury festival.
The Inishowen trio will play on the ‘Acoustic Stage’, sharing the bill with Jake Bugg, Alison Moyet, Suzanne Vega, Clannad and others.
The three ‘Henry’ sisters, Lorna, Karen and Joleen McLaughlin said they are ‘very excited’ ahead of their slot on Sunday, June 29.
“We are very excited as the festival is internationally renowned and has hosted some of the world’s best music acts,” Lorna said.
“We only have one slot at the festival and we are free the rest of the time. Playing there means that we get a full festival pass for the weekend so we are looking forward to seeing some of the amazing acts that are playing too,” she added.
Joleen and Lorna performed at the 2009 Glastonbury as part of the Inishowen Gospel Choir but this year marks the ‘Henry Girls’ debut at the festival.
“It will probably be a tiny bit nerve wracking! However, above everything we are just so excited to get the chance to play there,” Lorna smiled.
