Inishowen doctors are in the money

Local GPs earned €4.7 million from medical cards in 2012
Inishowen doctors earned almost €4.7 million for the care of patients under the medical card and other state schemes in 2012.
Sixteen GPs based in the peninsula received an average payment of €292,749 for the year from medical card patients.
Cash payments from non-medical patients are not included in the figures, released this week by the Health Service Executive.
The highest earner by some distance was Buncrana doctor Michael Kennedy, who received two payments totalling €588,046 while Dr. Maria Bradley, also of Buncrana, was paid €449,557.
Dr. Kennedy was one of nine Inishowen doctors to receive payments in excess of €300,000 in 2012.
