Carn woman Lorraine McCauley, who is the lead vocalist for ‘Lorraine and the Borderlands’ will perform at a concert tonight, Thursday July 24, at Rathmullan House as part of the Earagail Arts Festival.
Lorrraine, who has been living in Scotland since 2007, is looking forward to getting home to her native county to perform with her band for the first time.
“This is will be the first time I will have played with the band in Donegal,” said Lorraine. “It’s something I always wanted to do – I wanted to show the band where I come from and to share our music at home, so I was really happy when we got invited to play at the Earagail Arts Festival.”
Since forming the band Lorraine McCauley and The Borderlands have since gone on to record and release their debut album ‘Light in the Darkest Corners’ receiving rave reviews throughout the UK.
Lorraine and the band were invited to play live on BBC Radio 1’s new music show, BBC Introducing, and next year they will be touring different festivals in North America and Canada. However, proud Inishowen woman, Lorraine, has not forgotten her roots.
