Derry father-of-five found at rocks near Five Fingers Strand
Derry man Anthony Griffiths, whose remains were recovered close to Five Fingers Strand, Malin last Thursday afternoon, was laid to rest following requiem mass at St. Mary’s Church, Creggan on Sunday.
The 59-year-old father-of-five, who lived in the Culmore area of Derry, went missing on the Isle of Doagh following a family camping trip.
His body was recovered following an extensive three-day search.
The alarm was raised last Tuesday evening at 6.20pm when Mr Griffiths had not returned to his car, which had been parked close to the water.
A major sea and land search operation was immediately launched but all hope for a successful rescue had faded by Tuesday night, when thoughts had turned to a recovery mission.
