Jury returns unanimous verdict of accidental death
A Buncrana teenager sat down in the road and was fatally struck by a car in a “terrible accident” three years ago, an inquest has heard.
Thirteen-year-old Callum Dale, who suffered from Asperger syndrome, died “immediately” in the collision close to Cockhill Bridge on the night of March 13, 2014.
His father Peter Dale suffered serious injuries after standing in front of his son in a bid to protect him from the impact.
After hearing evidence in an inquest at Buncrana Courthouse, a jury returned a unanimous verdict of accidental death.
